Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to beat Arsenal to the signing of Julian Draxler by meeting the £64m release clause in his contract.
Bild believe that the midfielder’s agent Roger Wittmann has arrived in the French capital to discuss terms on behalf of his representative, whohas made it very clear that he sees his future away from Wolfsburg.
Draxler told reporters earlier this month: “When Itransferred to Wolfsburg in 2015, we had a verbal agreement that I can leave the club when a possibility emerges. With Dieter Hecking as well as Klaus Allofs.
“It was obvious that Wolfsburg showed me a good perspective back then, but also served as steppingstone.”
Arsenal were at the head of the Premier League queue to sign the German international with Liverpool close behind, but the French champions appear to be the first to make an aggressive movefor the 22-year-old star.
