The elder sister of star singer Mariah Carey, 55-year-old Alison Carey has been arrested for prostitution.

Alison was arrested in Saugerties New York on Friday while soliciting money in exchange for sex from an undercover policeman posing as a client.

She has been arraigned and sent to jail in lieu of $1,000 bail. Her case is due in court on Tuesday.

Alison once accused her sister, Mariah of gross neglect after she refused to pay for her medical bills.
