The 2 months old strike doesn't seem to be ending soon as no positive feedback have been received from the several meetings that have been held between ASUU-AAUA and the school management.
Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko found it's academic activities truncated and gates under lockdown has the lecturers of the school have decided to stay away from their duties because of reasons believed to be "ISSUE OF NON-SALARY PAYMENT".
At the early stage of the strike, MB spoke with a lot of AAUAITES and the replies then were similar in general, they had the believe then that the strike won't last for more than 2 weeks but to the amazement of the whole university, the industrial action is over 2 months.
On the part of ASUU, the union leaders and members have obviously lost trust in the management of the school and the state at large as several meetings and agreement attempts have always ended up in the negative sense. They requested for the payment of their legal entitlements and since the strike is still on, MB can submit that they are yet to be paid.
Nothing has been heard on the part of the school management therefore MB cannot say if there is progress on their part or not.
The students however, have taken to twitter and several other social media platform to plead, speak and ask questions concerning the ongoing strike and know how sooner resumption will be or how longer the strike will continue.
Check pictures for more on the part of the students.
