As at yesterday 9th of April 2016, the students of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko as early as 8am trooped out of the campus to protest over the death of a student who was involved in an accident involving a commercial motorcycle outside the University Campus on Friday 8, April, 2016.

Since yesterday morning, during the rain and in the midnight, the students of AAUA have maintained the spirit of "ALUTA".

As at the writing of this post, the community is tensed with Nigerian students and some indigenes of Akungba community in a headlong battle which involves various destructions and vandalism in and outside the school campus.

Among the vandalism and destructions were, the damaging of the school health centre and the chase to beat the staffs therein who were already caught climbing the fence in an attempt to escape for dear life, the destruction of facilities such as the school gate, the camera at the rear of the school gate, properties of businessmen and women outside the school among many others.

Meanwhile, the management of the school has announced the immediate closure of the school indefinitely till further notice but students are having difficulties leaving for their various homes as the men of the NURTW are placing high charges on transportation fees understandably due to the scarcity and cost of buy fuel.

As it is right now, the involvement of the military men and the men of the police force doesn't seem to be helping the situation...

Reports says the policemen are using devices and tools which are cruel and dangerous to the life of Nigerian students. Guns are fired towards the gathering of Nigerian students, Teargas are fired to disperse the students off the streets but in the cause of the rush, some students are collapsing and the heat in the community is at it's peak.

One of the comrades who pleaded to remain anonymous said,

"Nigerian students are not goats...Enough to deaths of Nigerian students in AAUA... The school management might take any action after this protest but then, OUR VOICE MUST BE HEARD...."

Cameras were not allowed as such attempt have led to destructions of devices and embarrassment of owners.

We strongly recommend that the public not only be aware of this but also do whatever is needed to get this issue resolved.

More updates to come.....
